First Day of School

Luke has completed his first week of medical school with great success. It's full steam ahead from here on out. He has been so excited for this time to come and it's strange that it's finally here. He loves his classes and we have met a lot of great people who will be in his class. The week actually started with orientations last Friday and Saturday before the first day of school. Luke received his medical equipment and was as giddy as a little kid on Christmas morning. On Saturday was the formal White Coat Ceremony. This is a big deal for medical schools where each student dons their new white coat signifying their entrance into the medical field. It was a very special moment. I have video footage of Luke receiving his white coat, but I'll have to post it later because I don't know how to download our videos onto the computer yet. :) But I do have some pictures....

I snapped a shot before the ceremony to capture the anticipation Luke was feeling.

Luke and me together after the ceremony. Doesn't he look good in that white coat? And don't I look huge in that dress?

First day of school. Professional dress required.

What a cute medical student. In the picture with him in his backpack he looks just like my kids on their first day of school. Good luck with it all!!!

How fun! Luke really does look excited for all of it. The white coat looks very official. We're cheering you on!

Yes, Luke looks fantastic in his white coat. And no, you don't look huge in that dress...you look beautiful. Also, great job on the use of the paper lanterns in what looks like your living room. I love it when I see paper lanterns in people's houses, makes everything more cozy.

So excited for you both. Luke might not be a doctor yet but I'm sure he could play one on TV! He looks so cute in his white coat. I hope you are doing well. Can't wait for little Merrill either...you guys got a lot going on! Love ya!
